Under sendingen av Verdens ende #4 fra Tromsø ble vi kjent med sosialantropolog og filmskaper Ilakkiya Mariya Simon som fortalte om feltarbeidet hun gjorde på Sri Lanka i 2022. Nå er hun tilbake som radiovert for SASUSU Radio på Verdens ende i Harstad, hvor vi kommer tettere på hennes praksis og liv. Gjennom en voksende nysgjerrighet for jord og dens evne til å bære fortellinger vil Ilakkiya ta oss inn i en samtale om det å slå rot i sin tilhørighet, og utvide horisonten mellom fortiden våres og tiden vi står i.

SASUSU Radio invites to the The End of the World #7 with Ilakkiya Mariya Simon.

During the live radio show The End of the World #4 from Tromsø we got to know social anthropologist and filmmaker Ilakkiya Mariya Simon, where she told us about the field work she did in Sri Lanka in 2022. Now she is back as radio host for SASUSU Radio at The End of the World in Harstad, which she will give us closer look at her practice and life. Through a growing curiosity for the soil and its ability to carry stories, Ilakkiya will draw us into a conversation about how to take root in your own belonging, and expand the horizon between our past and present.
